Shirakawa-go Gassho Village (Entry 1 Gassho - house)
Famous for its unique Gassho-zukuri architecture, it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1995. These buildings are named for their highly pitched thatched roofs, which resemble the shape of folded hands.
Hida Takayama Old Streets
Here you can admire the unique "out grid" architecture style, clear drains, and traditional wine factories along the old street. There are also many specialty shops on the old street, including a tangerine shop, a traditional arts and crafts shop, and a famous shop selling the local Hida wagyu skewers.

Kusatsu Yubatake
The "Yubatake" of Kusatsu Onsen is one of the iconic landscapes of the hot spring town. It is in the centre of the hot spring town and is a large open-air hot spring area. Yubatake means "hot water field", and the source of the spring gushes out about 4,000 litters of hot spring water per minute. The hot spring water is cooled through wooden pipes and supplied to the bathhouses in the town.
